Would love Farabee at #14, but would be somewhat surprised if he's still on the board.
Man, between Melnyk, Bruce Gamble, and Tommy Soderstrom, the Flyers must lead NHL in players who've dealt with heart issues while still actively playing. I guess Kaut would fit right in!
It has been fun watching Ovi's antics. Dude definitely is enjoying himself. Good for him! - Fryman4
You can tell he had been carrying the weight of all those past playoff defeats on his shoulders for a long time with the way he celebrated. Good for him.

yeah....i mean, i HATE the caps, but he's always been a player i've "feared" instead of just "hated" (like those dbags in Pitt). he's always been so fun, watching him do a keg stand out of the cup definitely made me smile.
but it just makes me want our stupid idiot team to win it THAT MUCH MORE!
Holbty got screwed out of the Conn Smythe IMO - YuenglingJagr
a little politics in that one. i'm not mad about it, and while Holtby may think he deserves it, the decade plus Ovi's been the face and driving force of that franchise probably makes him far less mad about it too.
any thoughts on if we would submit offer sheet on RFA like Trouba? Right dman. What would it take? Picks and prospect? Gudas? Thoughts? - cdearth23
Unless you offer to overpay him (like $7M+ per), Winnipeg is likely to match. Winnipeg's main issue with Trouba is getting him to agree to sign/live in Winnipeg, not an unwillingness to pay him. Trouba knows this, so getting him to agree to an offer sheet has to be done with him knowing that Winnipeg may match.

I don't think he would go over 6.1. Maybe like 6x6 or 7x5.5-6 - YuenglingJagr
It gonna be close. 4 straight 20+ goal seasons and last season avg over a ppg. I wouldn't be surprised, ESPECIALLY if it came in the form of a offer sheet, which by nature would be an over payment. Otherwise why would he sign?
I actually thought that Kuznetsov deserved it, but Ovi did lead the playoffs in goals. It's not as bad as Crosby's lifetime achievement award in 2016. - jmatchett383
I honestly would have been fine with any of those 3 winning it. All of them were important parts to their teams playoff success, and I would say that none of them were a clear cut above the other 2 either, so there was no real obvious choice this year. Which is why I believe it went to Ovi.

my main point is that I think a team could make a very competitive offer and stay under the 6.1 threshold
